Val joined AB Heritage in March 2026, following the completion of her BA in Anthropology and Archaeology and MA in International Cultural Heritage Management at Durham University, alongside experience in a range of private-sector roles.
As a Heritage Consultant, Val supports the delivery of a range of archaeological and built heritage projects. Her work includes undertaking site visits and archive research, gathering and assessing information on the historic environment, and contributing to the research and preparation of heritage reports.
Val works on Initial Site Heritage Appraisals, Archaeological Desk-Based Assessments, Heritage Statements and Historic Building Records, helping to establish the archaeological and heritage considerations associated with a site and support clients through the planning and development process.
Her role includes researching the history and development of sites and buildings, assessing heritage significance and considering the potential effects of proposed development on heritage assets, including Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas.
Val is a Practitioner member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (PCIfA) and has a particular interest in historic buildings and cultural heritage management.
Outside of work, Val enjoys motorcycle trips, visiting historic sites, and spending time with friends and family.
