Constructing Excellence in Wales Award
AB Heritage are proud to announce that they were part of the SRB Civil Engineering UK Ltd. team that delivered the A477 St Clears to Red Roses Improvement scheme, which recently won the 2014 ‘Integration and Collaborative Working Award’ at the Constructing Excellence in Wales Awards.
The award, a recognition of the hard work of the entire project team, recognised the £47million scheme as an ‘exemplar project for the whole industry on how to deliver a landmark scheme collaboratively’. It cited the successful management of a range of significant construction challenges, including the archaeological resource, as one of the list of achievements delivered by the team.
Andy Buckley, Managing Director at AB Heritage, said “I am delighted that the hard work undertaken by SRB and the entire project team has been recognised with this award. In relation to AB Heritage’s input we have, from the outset, looked to provide the most robust set of works, proactively managing and mitigating potential impacts to what was an extensive and highly significant archaeological resource. Our role, which started with the production of the Cultural Heritage Environmental Statement, has encompassed delivery of a huge array of archaeological works, covering everything from the design and management of evaluation trenching; strip, map & sample; the partial excavation of a scheduled monument; historic building recording; geoarchaeological assessment; and watching brief works”.
