Heritage Consultant / Senior Heritage Consultant

Due to an expanding workload, AB Heritage Limited has an exciting opportunity for a self-starting heritage professional to join our team as a Heritage Consultant or Senior Heritage Consultant.

Are you a talented all-rounder?

The main focus of this role will be around the assessment of historic buildings, with the role involving the production of Heritage Statements, Listed Building Consent Applications, Historic Building Recording Surveys and Conservation Area Appraisals. However, a working knowledge of archaeology would also be a benefit, with input into Archaeological Desk-Based Assessments and Environmental Statements being part of the team’s work.

The position is primarily home based with occasional requirement to attend the head office in South Shields. Candidates will be located preferably within the Midlands or East of England area (though consideration will be given to other areas depending on the candidate). We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic team player with an existing track record in commercial heritage consultancy and excellent communication skills.

The position offered is full-time (37.5 hours a week) but is open to negotiation for 30 hours per week. Our work requires  travel in the UK, and on occasion some working away from home . The successful applicant must have a full UK driving licence and membership with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA), or equivalent.
