AB Heritage receive thanks from Network Rail
AB Heritage was selected by Network Rail to act as Project Archaeologist for their part of the Crossrail project. The overall Crossrail works through the heart of London will result in one of the most extensive archaeological programmes ever undertaken in the UK, with AB Heritage negotiating and managing the archaeological input for all surface sections ahead of construction.
“AB Heritage continues to play a central role in the success of Network Rail’s Crossrail works”, says Tertius Beneke, Environmental Manager for Network Rail. “We work in consultation with English Heritage and other local authorities archaeologists and it is AB Heritage’s ability to negotiate with all these different organisations, managing every aspect of the archaeological requirements, that is so valuable and second to none.
“Throughout their involvement, AB Heritage has conducted a thorough review of all works needed, ensuring we manage our archaeological risk, while maintaining a very focused scope of archaeological works, which has helped us reduce the overall costs incurred. In a project of this scale, AB Heritage’s client focused approach combined with a high level of expertise, means we can operate confident that we have the best archaeological strategy in place”.
