Daniel Dodds, Principal Heritage Consultant
Sector: Archaeological Survey
Dan has been a professional archaeologist for over 20 years, gaining a wide understanding of archaeology, its processes and its risks. He is the Regional Manager for AB Heritage's Northern Office, which is located in Newcastle.
Since joining AB Heritage in 2015 Dan has commissioned and provided oversight on a large range of projects across the UK. Notable works included his design and management of AB Heritage's archaeological works on the A9 Improvement Scheme through the Cairngorms National Park, on behalf of CFJV and Transport Scotland, as well as the extensive evaluation works at RAF Desborough in Northamptonshire.
Having previously worked for a variety of archaeological organisations, both in the private and public sectors, Dan has a keen understanding of the commercial pressures of the planning system, taking pride in working with development professionals to meet their goals.
Dan enjoys long walks in the hills and along the coast of his native Northumberland – particularly during the spring and summer seasons. During the winter he is most likely to be found with his head in a book about the Romans, or thinking about a quick amble to the pub.
