Road and Rail Infrastructure Projects

Are you preparing to construct a new road or rail scheme?

If so, you will need to engage with archaeology.

All new infrastructure schemes require heritage works to be embedded into the project. HS2 Ltd for example has published their needs for archaeology, and major road schemes, such as the Dualling of the A9 in Scotland, and the A14 improvement works routinely do the same.

The process for archaeological management starts with preparation of Detailed Historic Environment Desk Based Assessments to inform the works defined in an Environmental Statement. Fieldwork is certainly required, but recommendations for automatic progression to large scale works needs to be questioned.

Make sure you take the correct advice:

AB Heritage has in place a dedicated and skilled team of Archaeological Consultants to work solely on your behalf.
